Armor Mesh Valkyrie Runner Stringing Tips

Learn how to string the Armor Mesh Valkyrie Runner with our easy step-by-step tips. Get expert advice on knots, tension, and dialing in your lacrosse pocket.
Attaching the Top String

- Attach the top string like you would any other lacrosse mesh.
- I like using the first sidewall hole to leave room for the sidewall and crosslace.
- Tie the top string as tight as you can because our sidewalk will pull on it.
- One way to tie a tighter top string is to loop the topstring around the sidewall hole once if there's enough room.
- If there's not enough room you can add the crosslace and sidewall before the top string as see in the photo above.
Secure the runner via the bottom string

- Securing the bottom string is the second step.
- Don't cut the runner strings in case you have to adjust.
Pocket Pound the Pocket to stretch the materials out

- As with any type of lacrosse mesh, traditional pocket, or women's runner the only way to minimize the break in time and create a more consistent pocket is to pocket pound the pocket.
- I like to do it at several different times in the process. Using a wooden bat works best from my experience. Don't use a metal bat as it will break the mesh.
Attach a pocket template and tighten the runners
You can use a pocket shaper, trad-i-tree, or another type of plastic pocket piece.

- the runner strings act as a reference for a the tightness of each side.

- If one side is tighter than the other than the runner string will be longer. See the image below:

- Make sure to tighten the runner

If you didn't add the crosslace and sidewall first, add both now.

or

- If there are extra top string holes the best way is to anchor the sidewall via a top string hole.

- If there is no extra top string holes than you can anchor the sidewall string to the top string
String the Sidewall

- This is a personal preference but I like to keep the sidewall string away from the sidewall to make it easier to string.

- I also like to create rails perpendicular to the runner as it creates a more even pocket that breaks in better.
Attaching the Crosslace: Part 1

- The Valkyrie runner string weaves in and out of the actual runner.
- I like using the string behind the runner string as a reference point.
- This string is highlighted by the chopstick in the above and below photo.

- This string occurs every other weave.
Attaching the crosslace: Part 2

You will attach the crosslace right after the string highlighted in part 1.

You will skip the next one and attach to the sidewall but align that knot with the row skip.

This is more of a pattern recognition for a consistent weave.
Tie off the crosslace and add shooters.
- Add the top shooter first between the row skipped
